I'm excited. In only four days time, I will start my "All-Natural in 90 Days" campaign. I need to book 20 fundraising parties by the end of June. These parties will be my main platform for raising enough funds to establish my entire product line of bath and beauty products. I'm hoping each party can book 5-10 guests. I will bring samples of my current line and conduct a presentation with PowerPoint and video about my goals for Love Me Recovery. I hope to book some online parties and house parties in other states where I can conference through Skype. It I can book more than 20 parties, I will be set!
I will offer perks for my party hosts. Once we raise $6,000.00 and celebrate our product roll-out in August, I will offer pre-order discounts to all contributors. These discounts will range from $5-$120. My goal is to raise $4,000 through these parties. My other methods include: sponsors, Facebook, and product sales. If you are interested in hosting a party to sell current Love Me Recovery makeup products, please contact me. I will be offering excellent discounts on makeup!
Those interested in sponsoring Love Me Recovery, I am offering advertising on my website in exchange for your contribution. My goal is to get 50 sponsorship's at $20 each. This $20 contribution gets you three months of website ads on www.lovemerecovery.com. If you contribute anywhere from $50 and up, I will dedicate an entire page to your company. I think this is a great opportunity for photographers, wedding plannings, makeup artists, web designers, graphic artists, and more!
My Facebook fundraising will be hosted through an event. I am looking to receive 50 contributions of $10 each. In return, I will give my contributors a $5 off coupon for any Love Me Recovery purchase over $9.99.
In summary...
I hope to fund $4,000 through pledge parties, $500 through sponsorship's, $500 through Facebook, and $500 through product sales.
My goal per fundraising party is $200.00.
Right now, I am asking that anyone who can have a party please contact me directly through phone or email.
Phone 971-208-1799
Email jennifercerf@lovemerecovery.com
I also need graphic assistance help for labels, brochures, and flyers. I need someone who can record a fundraising video. I am willing to exchange product for these services.
Stop and think. If we can make this fundraising successful, Love Me Recovery will be able to roll-out an entire line all all-natural bath and beauty products for under $9.99 each! I need your help to make this dream come true. In return, I promise to product a product of superior quality with an excellent price!
Love,
Jenny

1 week countdown to campaign kickoff!
Saturday, June 1st, I will officially start my "All-Natural in 90 Days" campaign. June is all about pre-planning for my 30 day fundraiser which will take place in July. August is Love Me Recovery's product roll-out month. I'm almost done with my PowerPoint and need to record a fundraising video. I'll probably record a voice recording for the PowerPoint too. This will all be done before June 1st.
I've set-up my gofundme.com campaign and it's ready to launch once my campaign video is complete! I need to book 20 pledge parties. That is my main focus this week. If I don't have pledge parties, I don't have a fundraiser. $4k of my $6k goal is derived from pledges. If you can host a local or online pledge party please contact me through www.lovemerecovery.com.
I will post my PowerPoint explaining my campaigns goals soon!
Love,
Jenny

Will you pledge for all-natural products under $9.99?
I putting in a lot of hours trying to plan my next product campaign. The shampoo and conditioner roll-out was a success. Everyone should get their products by next week. I'm just working on the labels. I want to aim higher next time and roll-out 5 products at once. These products are:
- Face wash
- Body wash
- Face lotion
- Toner
- Shaving cream
They will all have customized options:
- Face wash: you'll have the option to add additional essential oils and/or fragrance. The product is perfect as-is. If you have additional needs for example: eczema or extra oily skin, we can address those issues.
- Body Wash: same thing (essential oils and fragrance) plus color! Some like their body wash different colors. I can use mica to add pigment and sparkle!
- Face Lotion: (add essential oils and fragrance) choose from mature cleanser or additional moisture.
- Toner (Two options for toner: Peppermint and Lavender)
- Shaving Cream: (add essential oil, fragrance, and color)
Again, all these products are just perfect "as-is." Some may want to address additional concerns with their skin or just like to jazz up their products with color or fragrance. I can do that! No additional charge.
Beginning June 1st, I will need to have booked 10 pledge parties. I need 10 people to host a party of 5 or more people and raise $40 a person. The goal is:
30 days***10 parties *** 50 people *** $40 each***
The host of each party will get a set of the products being sponsored. Otherwise, I set of face wash, body wash, shaving cream, face lotion, and toner. This is all contingent upon raising the entire $2,000.00. All pledged monies will be set aside until my goal is achieved. A full refund will be given if I cannot raise the campaign goal.
In summary, I need 10 people to host a party and get 5 pledges of $40 each. I need to raise $2k in 30 days beginning June 1st. I want to book all parties by June 1st. If you are not local, you can have an online party. I will have a powerpoint presentation, a video, and be available for skype conference calls and phone calls. Anything to make this possible.
Once I make my goal, I will have 30 days to process orders. Then, we'll celebrate by having a campaign to get rid of unnatural products and stock up with all-natural products! I'm really excited about this opportunity to involve my potential and current customers in making Love Me Recovery a success.
More to come!
Love,
Jennifer

"All-Natural in 90 Days" (Update)
I promise my updates will be a lot more exciting after this weekend! I'm working a part-time job and finishing up my bachelors degree right now. I've been tirelessly working in my notebook, planning everything in fine detail. I want this campaign to be a success. My last fundraising campaign wasn't. I jumped in too quick and didn't built the support structure I needed. So...I have a couple needs to fill.
1. I need 20 volunteers/campaign coordinators to hosts pledge parties at their homes or online. I will have details soon! Basically, this will involve helping me raise the funds for my "All-Natural in 90 Days" campaign. All volunteers will receive a makeup/bath & beauty kit.
2. I need someone to videotape a fundraising video. I will be looking for volunteers to put on a "makeover" day. Also, I want to have a day where I videotape a few people throwing away all their old bath and beauty stuff and replacing it with Love Me Recovery!
If you are interested, please email: jennifercerf@lovemerecovery.com

Are you ready to take the All-Natural Challenge?
I have another challenge for you. Can you calculate how much money you spend on the following products:
Bath & Beauty
- shampoo and conditioner
- face wash
- body wash
- shaving cream
- toner/astringent
- body lotion/body butter
- sugar scrub/body scrub
Makeup
- foundation
- concealer
- eye-shadow
- blush
- mascara
- eyeliner
- lip liner
- lipstick
- bronzer
- nail polish
Total $__.____
I hope you've had an opportunity to take my ingredient challenge. No matter how much you are paying for the above products, you should know how toxic and harmful they are to your overall health and skin. Visit these websites below and conduct your own research:
www.ewg.org/skindeep
www.safecosmetics.com
Before I started Love Me Recovery, I didn't know half of what I know today about bath/body and cosmetic ingredients. I did know my makeup wasn't making my skin any better, if not worse. Until recently, I suffered from serious dry skin, itchy scalp, blackheads, acne, ECT. Then, I started making my own bath and body products and my own makeup. After only two weeks, my blackheads are nearly gone, my skin has cleared up, my face feels soft all-day, and I don't have itchy scalp anymore.
I'm going back to the basics. That is exactly what I want to help everyone else do. Let's go back to the basics and love our skin.
The Big Kahuna Fundraiser
Are you ready to get rid of everything you own: bath & body and cosmetics that isn't really making your skin happy? I have a solution. This is where my "Big Kahuna Fundraiser" comes in. Today, I am not going into large-scale detail. I'm just scraping the surface of a huge project that is going to span 90 days from June 1st to the end of August. June is my planning month. Right now, I'm just brainstorming and looking for feedback (Please leave comments!). I get sad that over 1100 people have visited my other blog and never comment.
What is my fundraising goal?
$6,000.00
Deep breath. I've got two notebooks full of ideas and I'm just gathering my thoughts. I have to say this before I continue. I've had a few people (friends, Facebook buddies, family) tell me I shouldn't ask for money. Well...I'm not just asking people for money. I am however asking people to take a chance on my vision, my company, and me. My mission for Love Me Recovery is simple:
"To provide all-natural bath & beauty products under $9.99 each."
I decided to launch my product line through contributions. My GoFundMe.com campaign will be centered around a product line theme. The idea is to raise enough capital to start my entire line and open a shared store front. My contributors are not left empty-handed. Everyone gets product. I will have multiple levels of contributions ranging from sponsoring one product to every product. Contributions will range from $5-$120 (of course you can always donate more). The campaign will run 30 days, the whole month of July. It's all or nothing. I have to raise the entire $6,000.00.
Can I accomplish this? The average contribution to a GoFundMe Campaign is $25. I would need 240 contributions at $25. I have a bigger vision for this campaign ranging from small to large contributions. That is why I need a whole month to plan before I actually start my fundraising.
Product Offerings
I will be offering all of the products I mentioned above.
Bath & Beauty
- shampoo and conditioner
- face wash
- body wash
- shaving cream
- toner/astringent
- body lotion/body butter
- sugar scrub/body scrub
Makeup
- foundation
- concealer
- eye-shadow
- blush
- mascara
- eyeliner
- lip liner
- lipstick
- bronzer
- nail polish
I've already established most of my makeup line. I just ordered my first batch of shampoo and conditioner supplies. Yeah! I have the following products left to roll out in terms of makeup:
- concealer
- mascara
- lip liner
- eyeliner
- lipstick
- nail polish
I will also expand my foundation line to include more variation in tone. I want to tailor to all skins tones. I've purchased several essential oils and fragrances to use in the bath and beauty products. In terms of the fundraiser, my goal is to offer all products at $5-$9.99. I haven't finished pricing everything just yet. I'll roll that information out soon enough. I can tell you this much. You can replace all of the above mentioned products for only $120.00. Not too shabby for all-natural.
Step 1: Pre-Campaign Launch
I need to put together a kick ass fundraising team! The duties of this fundraising team will include:
- Hosting fundraising parties
- Finding sponsors
- Video recording
- Marketing & Advertising
- Social Media assistance
I want to have 20-mini parties in the month of July and one big party on the last day of fundraising. My goal is to raise $200 a party, average $20 a guest. I have big perks for more money. If you raise over $350, the host gets an entire bath and beauty kit including all of Love Me Recovery's products (Valued $120).
I want to raise $1k through sponsorships, $500 through Facebook, and $500 through other sources. The majority ($4k) will come from fundraising parties and social media.
Those who are reading this, I need 20-25 volunteers to make this happen. I hope to find at least 2-4 people who can videotape and help out with social media. I'd like to gather a team of around 5 people for sponsorship's. I must gather enough people to book 20 parties!

Email: jennifercerf@lovemerecovery.com

I will summarize by saying that I believe in this company. Let's get back-to-basics and start loving our skin. In August, when I'm done raising $6k, we will all celebrate and select a day in honor of throwing away our icky bath and beauty products and replacing them with all-natural and affordable Love Me Recovery products. "Out with the old, and in with the new!"

It feels good...it feels good! (Update All-Natural in 90 Days!)
Stay up to date on everything that is Love Me Recovery! Read and follow my other blog:
http://lovemerecovery.blogspot.com/2013/05/sodium-lauryl-sulfate-safe-or-unsafe.html
I made a small dent in the information gap between consumers and the makeup industry today. Sometimes, it just starts with one person. I love reading the Environmental Working Groups website (www.ewg.org/skindeep). They have a cosmetics database that is out-of-this-world informative! A few weeks ago, I looked up the most hazardous foundations and found Rimmel and BareMinerals were the bad guys. They rate 8-9 (1 good, 10 bad) for liquid and power foundation. Well...I got to share that with my boyfriends, girlfriend today and she uses both of these products! She was mortified. I'm sending her a bunch of free samples home with my mom this week: foundation, blush, and eyeshadow.
Consumers must face this one fact: we are not protected by the FDA in terms of what is safe and unsafe ingredients for cosmetics. I wrote a blog today about sodium lauryl sulfate (link above). I didn't focus so much on the scientific reasons SLS is bad for your skin. Although, the research is surfacing. SLS is irritating to the skin. Plus! It's in everything. Cosmetics and bath/beauty companies use it because it's cheap. Consumers like foamy products and they buy the stuff.
Take a second, and look at all the bath and beauty products you use on a daily basis. How many of them contain SLS?
Back to my point....Consumers must protect themselves. That is why I do so much internet research. I also research using my experience with bath and beauty products over the past 25+ years. When I stopped using face and body wash with SLS, my skin changed. It's clear, soft, and not irritated. I don't need science to figure that out.
I want to go back to the basics. I'm working on all-natural bath and beauty products that treat the skin with essential oils and natural fragrance. I use all-natural preservatives and limited ingredients. The shampoo and conditioner line will be introduced in the next 2-3 weeks. I'm working on a campaign right now to raise funds. Crunching the numbers
I am in the heat of itemizing my cost of doing business. It is tiring! Currently, I am working on a spreadsheet of operating expenses, supplies, start-up costs, and so forth. This part is very important but very tedious. I should be done by the end of the week and ready to move on to my next step in preparing for my "All-natural in 90 Days" campaign. I found out you cannot use kickstarter.com for anything related to cosmetics or bath and body products. I've moved on to gofundme.com.
I have an idea to help me launch a couple of my new products. I have to order enough supplies to demo my entire line before I start fundraising. This is gonna cost some serious dollars! So...I though I'd start out simple with my shampoo and conditioner. I am going to attempt to get 20 people to contribute $10 ea. to buying all the necessary supplies. Everyone will get an 8 oz. bottle of shampoo and conditioner at cost. This way, I'll have an audience to interview about the product and get to test out its success! I've already started to gather participants. I'll probably take this even further and work on the same concept with the rest of the product line. Everyone benefits. I get to buy my supplies, test my products, participants get products at cost, and I have another segment to add to my fundraising video!
I'm really going to take the plunge once to fundraising is live. I've decided to go with the 30 day campaign. These are said to be more successful because campaign participants take your project seriously if you also take it seriously. Can I build enough momentum in 30 days? With planning, I hope to do just that. This is why I'm not launching the campaign for at least another 2-3 weeks. Planning is everything. I've got lots of contacts to make:
Right now, I have to focus on the big picture. I need funding. My potential customers want to see a whole product line. The one consignment store I am selling at is getting the complain that I don't have enough variety. This fundraiser will fix all of that. I will have so much variety! My suppliers are amazing and affordable. I have all-natural products that aren't expensive. My packaging is going to be awesome and beautiful.
I've found opportunities for a couple large vendor fairs coming up. I'm debating on starting a riverfront market. I was attending our local vendor market but the traffic and location wasn't suitable for my market. I need to reach out to bridal shops, locally-owned retailers, building my local base, and really work on my online marketing. I'm still trying to find my niche. I am keeping an open mind. I do have a custom-design drawn out for an amazing compact to hold my mineral makeup. I won't go into detail only to save the possibility that someone steals my design!
I need to start my e-book. That will generate revenue. I've got an outline to start. This e-book is going to expose the ingredients of nasty cosmetics in plain English, it will offer solutions to all-natural makeovers under $100, it will offer a challenge to rid consumer households of national brands who lie to our faces about their ingredients. Then, I'll take my readers shopping!
Something like that...
Love,
Jenny

Introduction to All-Natural in 90 Days
In February of this year, I started Love Me Recovery Mineral Makeup. My product line currently consists of mineral:
http://www.kickstarter.com/
I'm still in the thought process phase of deciding how to approach the kickerstarter campaign. I have a few ideas for fundraiser goals and how to approach the entire campaign. I do have one solid idea that I'd like to share with everyone.
I will have a video for the campaign showing my day of throwing away all of my shampoo, conditioner, face wash, body wash, toners, store-bought makeup, ECT. I will replace it with all of my product line. I'm already using all of my makeup and couldn't be happier with how my acne has almost disappeared. I use a self-formulated oatmeal scrub for my face and body wash already. It has diminished my blackheads and keep my skin so soft and smooth!
What do you think?
For now, I want to encourage my readers to visit two websites:
www.ewg.org/skindeep
www.safecosmetics.org
Take my ingredient challenge. Enter the names of your bath and beauty supplies on www.ewg.org/skindeep. They will provide loads of information on what's in your stuff. Just "Google." Lets just say BareMinerals isn't so bare. Scientists are getting real smart at faking us out with chemicals that pretend to make our hair soft and then fade away. Am I the only one who notices how my face never really feels soft all-day after applying facial moisturizer? Don't take my word for it, do the research. I will however post a lot of research here eventually.
Most importantly, I really want to hear from my readers. Would you buy all-natural products from a company that is new? I am home-based. I want to make my company a store-front eventually. I will franchise out in the future. Fundraising will ultimately determine how far I can take my dream of offering all-natural head-to-toe products for under $9.99. I know I can make this happen and change the way consumers view their use of name-brand products that contain such harmful chemicals. Also, all-natural products that want us to pay $25 for a foundation that is easier to make because it's all-natural. It makes no sense.
I will leave you with this. BareMineral users (and other users of expensive mineral makeup), do you use mineral veil? The main ingredient in mineral veil is cornstarch. Yet, you are paying $25 for cornstarch!

Jenny

Go All-Natural in One Day (Bath and Beauty)
I will pick a day after the fundraising campaign ends to encourage contributors to get rid of all their bath and beauty products that are full of harmful chemicals and skin irritants and commit to all-natural products. I will entice everyone to do so by offering all of my new products in a packaged deal at a low-cost.
